The Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) has instructed all current caterers to start serving wholesome meals to students nationwide as basic schools reopen on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.
As part of the School Feeding Program, the order seeks to guarantee that students in Ghana’s 16 regions continue to get one hot, wholesome meal every day.
Procurement Procedure for New Caterers
The GSFP, in partnership with the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection (MoGCSP), reiterated its dedication to the initiative’s successful execution in a press release released by the National Coordinator.
One of the core elements of the national plan to promote education and enhance child nutrition is still the School Feeding Program, which presently serves more than four million students in public basic schools across the country.
The GSFP has urged stakeholders and community leaders to help caterers carry out their mandate without interference in the meantime.
In order to guarantee that all caterers can fulfill their responsibility of providing beneficiary students with a single, hot, wholesome lunch without any obstacles, the statement said, “We strongly appeal to all stakeholders and opinion leaders within beneficiary communities.”
